Advice:Irishman Fergal O'Brien is sensational VALUE to beat Ding Jun Hui in tomorrows final qualifying session for this years UK Snooker Championship in Prestatyn.
As well as being 9 places higher in the current WSA rankings, with O'Brien at 51 and his Chinese opponent dropping to 60th (56th Last Term), O'Brien is in much better early season form than Ding.
Both appeared in last months "Rothmans" Grand Prix where we saw Junhui drop in the opening qualifying session 5-3 to 22 year-old Tom Ford. He did make two decent breaks in the match (118 & 130), but apart from those he was only average.
We cannot get away from the fact that Ding Junhui did do the business for us in yesterday's match, and at his best he is a very decent player.but!
O'Brien acquired more ranking points than his opponent last term, and has started this season in the same fashion. Fergal stuffed Judd Trump 5-2 in the first round of the "Rothmans" and followed that up by thrashing former 2 times UK Champion Mark Williams 5-3 in round two.
He eventually dropped 5-2 in the last 32 round of matches to eventual quarter finalist Stuart Bingham.
Ding Junhui is the break-builder in this one, and O'Brien is the defensive tactician. Junhui is bound to sink a ton break at least but will come out second best to O'Brien who's 2004 season just got better & better.
With his continued fine form Fergal looks assured for a slot in the first round proper and should be backed at Stan James amazing 2.625..with recent form in the bank like O'Brien's surely shouldn't he be FAVOURITE.
Thanks Stan James, should help pay for the festive season ahead.
