Advice:World Champions collide come December 4 when WBC Super Bantamweight title holder Oscar "Chololo" Larios (W56-L3-D1) takes on IBF champ Israel Vazquez (W38-L3-D0) for a third time.
Vazquez was the guy who ripped the "Zero" from the record of Larios back in April 1997, with an exciting 1st round shut-out. Some 39 fights later he still stands as the only fighter to have switched the Larios lights out completely. He was stopped by Agapito Sanchez (W36-L11-D3) the following year to the Vazquez first bout but he was still upright, and it registered as a TKO.
In their 2002 re-match for the now vacant WBC belt Vazquez came out strong from the opening bell but found a completely different proposition in front of him. Larios was up for it this time, and duly stopped Vazquez in the 12th frame of an action packed scrap.
It took Vazquez just four months to put that defeat behind him and is now on a run of six unbeaten. In the fourth he won the vacant IBF belt by defeating a very game Jose Luis Valbuena (W24-L4-D1) over twelve rounds and has since defended it only twice.
We are curious as to the inactivity of Vazquez this term as he will need to show-up in tip-top condition this time around to handle world number one "Chololo".
Of his last seven fights, four 12 rounders & two 10 rounders Larios has been made to go to the tenth frame in all of them. He stopped two in the tenth and the other five went to the 12th.
With everything so evenly matched between these two Aztec Warriors another all-out war is on the cards. Vazquez will NOT stop his man this time, but that said it's unlikley he'll be stopped himself.
After wrecking the career form figures of British "Pocket Rocket" Wayne McCullough (W27-L6-D0) with two sensational wins this year Larios is ripe.ultra ripe. He will take this one via the scorecards and by at least the odd round or two.
Take a medium portion of the 1.60 on offer at Bet & Win about this one going into the 11th round, or a larger slice of the 1.45 about it going into the 10th. Either way you'll be counting your winnings, thats for sure.
Stake : $300 To Win $180 (Excluding Stake)
