Experience tells the tale in this one. Bilic has been in with an awful bunch of fighters in his 40 month, twelve fight career. Of his 12 opponents 135 fight career totals they have won just 59 between them !! His last opponent posted form figures of (W1-L15-D2)...!!!
Hardly inspiring considering he has got to go in with someone of Buranyi's calibre.
The Hungarian took the WBC Youth Light Middleweight Title from Marco Schulze (W17-L2-D0) in his comeback fight from a shock loss to Italian Emanuele Grilli (W18-L1-D1) back in April. He lost to Grilli 112-115 on all three "ITALIAN" judges scorecards, IN ITALY !!!
Word has it Buranyi had done enough to take the fight but Italian boxing being what it is he took home nothing!!
His previous loss also came in Italy but this time he secumbed to the vastly more talanted Luca Mesi (W26-L8-D1). Mesi stopped an under-ripened Buranyi in seven. A fight the Hungarian took ten full months to recover from.
Now he has matured, better things should be still to come from 22 year-old Buranyi, and Bilic comes as a very small stepping-stone on the path back to glory.
Rated at 108 in the world Buranyi is rated some 105 places above his lesser opponent. Buranyi also crucially holds a 118 to 62 rounds boxed advantage.
