Advice:
Its "Step Up To The Plate" time for WBC Super-Middleweight champion Carl "The Cobra" Froch (W24-L0-D0) this coming Saturday night, when he takes on former title holder Jermaine "Bad Intentions" Taylor (W28-L2-D1)at Foxwoods Resort & Casino.

Froch, the older man by eleven months has looked sensational in every fight he has been involved in, stepping up against the likes of Henry Poras, Brian Magee and Robin Reid and stopping all three early.

His last fight, where he won the WBC title, was a tactical affair eventually outpointing unbeaten Canadian Jean Pascal (W23-L1-D0) over twelve hard-fought rounds. But considering how tough the Canadian actually was that was a sound result, confirming the Nottingham based fighter has a solid chin !!

Obviously this is a step up in class again here but he is up against Jermaine Taylor !! Taylor has found life hard at this level, and has struggled in seven of his last eight fights.

Both of his 2005 fights against "Old Timer" Bernard Hopkins were close (We had Hopkins winning the 1st battle), he then eeked out a draw against Ronald "Winky" Wright (Again we had Wright ahead). His December 2006 win over Kassim Ouma was slightly more straight forward winning on all three scorecards, but still getting caught regual as clockwork. But his May 2007 fight with Corey Spinks must have given the Little Rock resident much to think about. Spinks caught Taylor at will in the middle part of the fight and was a tad unlucky not to get the verdict in our opinion.

With only four months to recover from the bashing he got from Spinks he stepped into the ring against knock-out speciallist Kelly Pavlik (W35-L1-D0). Pavlik was all over Taylor from the start and duely wore him down and stopped him in the seventh.

He took 5 months off before the rematch where he actually looked involved in the fight. Pavlik found it harder the 2nd time around but still convincingly got the nod on all three scorecards.

With 9 months to nurse his wounds Taylor, in his last fight, took on the thoroughly exposed Jeff "Left Hook" Lacy (W25-L2-D0). He did win, and virtually as he pleased. But Lacy in our opinion is a total bum and the win does absolutely nothing to his CV !!!

Sportsbooks are split with their opinions on this one with most stateside layers like Bodog making their guy the marginal favourite, and UK based layers such as Skybet chalking up the unbeaten Brit as slight market leader at 1.80 !!

Jump right over to BODOG and grab some of their 100% deposit bonus available for all new customers. They make Froch the 2.10 outsider in the bout and it is here we advise making your play.
