Our 5th and final selection for the World Athletics Championship, which starts tonight (GMT) in Osaka, Japan is in the mens 400 metre hurdles.

America have a very good chance to complete the clean-sweep in this event. They have the top 5 on the world list, and front current US Champion James Carter, current World Champion Breshawn Jackson and pre-race favourite Kerron Clement.

Bwin have obviously not done there homework on this one.

Our selection James Carter has not been out of the top 3 places in any of his races to date this year. He is also the fastest man over the distance this year with his blisteringly quick 47.72 in Indianapolis at the back-end of June.

He has beaten favourite Kerron Clements in three of their last four meetings since June, and has scalped current Champion Breshawn Jackson in Lausanne where Jackson finished seventh !!

Jackson has flopped on another occasion this year when finishing last in 56.76 at the Golden Spike meeting in Ostrava. He is best left alone in our opinion.

With four wins, one second and three thirds to his name this season Carter looks the dominant force in the one lap hurdle event.

With Bet365 & Blue Square both going 4.50 the win about Carter, their place terms make him around the 1.90 mark for a top three placing.

Leave those prices and sportsbooks alone and go for the 2.20 at Bwin for Carter to finish on the podium for a ninth time this year.
