Advice:Former WBC Lightweight Champion Cesar Bazan (W44-L7-D1) should have no trouble beating his stand-in opponent tomorrow evening at the Roseland Ballroom in San Antonio. He was scripted to take on Eleazar Contreras but that opponent pulled out yesterday due to illness.
His new opponent Marteze "Too Sweet" Logan (W22-L2-D2) is simply not in this league. Logan has won just four of his last thirteen bouts, of which all bar one has gone to the judges. His last fight against "Vicious" Vivian Harris (W26-L2-D1) was a complete shut-out with Harris winning by 11 points on all three scorecards over 10 rounds!!
The only time Bazan has been humiliated in the way Harris battered Logan was at the hands of firstly WBO Light Welterweight Champion Miguel Angel Cotto (W25-L0-D0) and prior to that multi lightweight champion Jose Luis Castillo (W54-L7-D1). Other than those two bouts Bazan has been simply world class.
Bazan has been inactive for the best part of a year, but his opponent Logan is of such a lower class than the Mexican should dominate every round of this one. With 29 knock-outs already under his belt 31 year-old Bazan may even end this one early.
